SNITT is a collaborative project between designers from the UK and Norway.

The name translates as “section” and is a representation of both the design and construction techniques applied throughout the project and simultaneously to the choice of design team which includes furniture designers, architects, product designers, fabricators and facade / pattern designers.

The installation represents the intersection between a bench, a facade system and a graphic canvas. As one moves around the installation it can be enjoyed as a furniture piece or can transform to a facade when perceived at a different scale. The geometry is then directed by the directional patterning of lines on the acrylic sheets intersected by dark slats of MDF.
